| We do not charge for the health information we provide, instead offering years of study and practical experience for "free". At least several times each week we offer free consultations to those seeking to make the transition to a species-appropriate diet for their ill pets - often donating 10+ hours to a single individual... As you can imagine, this is time-consuming - but seeing the results and hearing the testimonies is also very rewarding! We really would like to maintain this opportunity for those who could not otherwise afford this service, but I am also a mother, wife, business woman, secretary, writer, teacher, puppy trainer, artist... and a list of other titles as well! Here at RunAmok Farm, we are members of the Natural Rearing Breeders Association; as such, we strictly
adhere to the NRBA Code of Ethics.
A simple definition of a "Natural rearing breeder" is one getting back to the very basics of health and care for their
dogs, or cats. As Natural Rearing breeders, we work to improve our breed by testing for various genetic defects,
breeding for proper structure, and placing an emphasis on sound temperament. In addition, we have chosen to
surpass most breeding programs in the care provided to our growing puppies.
The very foundation of our breeding program focuses on proper nutrition - feeding only healthy,
species-appropriate raw foods and providing natural facilities for early puppy training and development.
RunAmok puppies are raised free of chemicals and toxins, using natural health care whenever possible. Our little
ones are given the best of both worlds; raised in our home, with lots of socialization (imprinting), but also
constantly provided earthy "outdoor" surfaces to potty-train on, as well as real outdoor time in the sunshine and
fresh air.
We do not physically or emotionally stress our puppies with early weaning. Weaning on a natural schedule gives
them a solid start, unlike pups force-weaned at early ages.
Natural-rearing breeders work toward building their puppies' immune systems through proper diet & clean
facilities - for some that means NO vaccinations, and for some that means "minimal". We are not entirely against
all vaccinations, however, for optimum health, we recommend a very minimal vaccine protocol.
Naturally-reared puppies are an elite group, given the very best start possible!
While these concepts are not what we hear from the pet food companies, it is important to remember that with
humans, fresh foods are always best... and so it is with our lovely canine companions! Nearly every variation of a
species-appropriate raw food diet will be much healthier than commercial foods!
